Mick Angel was going back home with a perky motion. The day had been pretty good despite a few slaps taken here and there, and the night promised to be even better. He had planned a small quiet night in, alone with Kazue, well, he hoped it wouldn't be completely "calm" and he began to dream of all the possibilities the night could offer him with his beloved.  

He still had some work to do before he could cheer the heart of his nurse and he was coming back with an armful of packages. He would make one of those small meals for which he had the secrets : Saint Jacques nuts perfumed with ginger, a little Thai salad with papaya, and finally for the dessert, a cake iced with chocolate... But he had to hurry if he didn't want his projects to go under the bridge.  

Still, he allowed his thoughts to venture a little towards the small gift he held in a golden package. The thought of Kazue in this small set of midnight blue, he began to drool seriously. He had almost been thrown out of the store when he asked one of the lingerie store's saleswomen to try it, but he had obtained his precious card. He had to admit that he had spotted it a few weeks ago, one evening when he was out with Ryo. Amid the fumes of alcohol fogging his brain and the sidewalk that did not seem to go forward anymore, he had a flash. He had fallen, completely rapt, in front of the model on which was laid out a magnificent set of lace underwear. Ever since then, he had not spent a single night without dreaming of this set on the body of Kazue.  

Lost in his thought that has become more than mokkori, he was suddenly pushed aside. The man who passed him while running stared straight into his eyes before turning his head back to his goal.  

- Eh? Can't you be more care ... ! he began before realizing that the man in question was no longer within earshot.  

That's when he saw the barrel of a gun protruding from the long gray cloak of the stranger. Only then did he thought back to the expression the stranger had while passing near him. He had a look of hatred, filled with pride, a grin of satisfaction written on his face ...  

The air this type had had didn't go well with Mick at all. Where did this man came from, he wondered, what had he done sto make him so maniacally happy with himself ? A glimmer of panic seized him and dropping all of his packets on the sidewalk, Mick ran toward the building with red bricks separate by the road from his home.

Kaori was floating ! She vaguely remembered what happened, but she didn't know the outcome of this story. She tried to open her eyes and jumped at the facility at which she had managed to do so. But everything remained blurry and hazy. She had this strange feeling of being bathed in cotton. She raised her hand to try to see it. What was happening to her ? Sure, she could move as she wished but she didn't have the sensation of feeling her limbs or more simply her body.  

Remembering the pain she had felt before, she wondered if she was at the Doc place, stuffed with painkillers and anti-pain... Yes, it was certainly that ! Ryo had succeeded in killing their enemy or at least to make him flee, then he had take her to the Doc....  

She sighed comfortably at the reassuring thought. Yes, it wouldn't be long before she would be able to hear Miki, Eriko and all others by her bedside. Exhausted, she closed her eyes again... She was too tired to try to call anyone. Anyway, she was surely safe ...

Mick and Saeko were inspecting the apartment.  

When Mick had told everyone that he had found Kaori and Ryo covered with blood in their living room, the inspector had raced to come. No, it couldn't happen to Ryo, the sweeper number one of Japan, it was impossible. She knew that their lives were constantly in danger for what City Hunter was. Is City Hunter, she corrected herself in her thoughts. The attack had to be exceptionally fast for Ryo to be surprised like this. Yes, only a professional could have done that. But what was the hardest to understand for her was how the apartment came to be in such a state. Kaori will not be happy, she thought. She is so manic!  

Umibozu was the first to arrive and had taken the couple to the Doc as soon as possible. Mick had managed to find a pulse in his two friends. But how long were they unconscious, this was the mystery. Five minutes? Ten minutes? Time was not playing in their field this time around, and Saeko was eager to go to the Doc to know the scope of their injuries. She wanted to hear that they were going to cope.  

- Hide! Don't let them join you, murmured the inspector.  

When she arrived, she had found a Mick, white as a sheet, sweating the anxiety and anger. The american only had one desire, go through the streets of Shinjuku in search of the man he had met to settle his fate. It had needed all of Saeko's diplomacy, and finally her request for him to investigate with her to settle him at least a little.  

Mick's presence was especially important when after identifying the angle of the shots, they had realized that the sniper could only have fired from the building of the American ...
